Predatory Behaviors

Updated: Dec 18, 2021

Uncovering the Truth

Do you see this animal? It is one of the most notorious predators alive. Merriam-Webster dictionary describes predators as "one who injures or exploits others for personal gain or profit." I tried to choose a photo that was not too gory but shows the technique this predator uses on its prey. It is the hunt with an intent to kill. A 12-minute video popped up on my phone. Something distinct caught my eye. The Tiger attacked its prey the same way, grabbing for the victim's neck? I was beyond curious. I had to understand the Tigers' behavior. I googled a question, "why do tigers attack their prey by the neck? The information blew me away. This is the truth about the throat clamp.

Predatory animals use a method known as the throat clamp.

  • the predator grasps the throat of the prey.

  • the preditor clamps tight so that the windpipe is either crushed or blocked.

  • the throat clamp is positioned high up on the animal's neck.

  • if the prey is on the ground and pinned, most predators position themselves behind the animal to use their body's weight to help control the movements of the prey,

  • the predator reaches around to grab the throat, usually twisting the head around, aiding in both their grasp and the blocking of the windpipe." Wikipedia, 2020.

I immediately thought about the behavior of the Minneapolis police. I felt it was important not to re-post the graphic photo out of respect for the victim's life. However, I encourage you to revisit the Minneapolis photo as you read this post. How were my findings mirroring the viral video? Why was I being given this kind of insight? I believe it is to aid my cause in addressing the behaviors we have ignored for so long. Behaviors matter, especially when they spill over from leadership. The knee technique is identical to the throat clamp method of predatory animals. The more I read about the predators' behavior, the more I realized it is a secret hunt to kill? I needed to know whether Minneapolis was the only state. Just as I suspected, News reports show more states practice this technique: Florida, Seattle, and San Francisco all had arrest photos in the same position. I believe there is a spiritual and natural side to our behaviors, and we must be equipped to address both the predator behind and the predator doing the predatory behaviors.

"Be on your guard and stay awake. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack." (CEV).

"The hunts are surprisingly well organized. Once a lion has selected an animal to attack, it will sprint to it and attempt to grab and hold it. Often several individuals will assist in making the kill in two stages:

  1. Bringing prey down- This process starts by a lion jumping onto the back of the selected prey animal and working its way toward the neck.

  2. The Kill- The most frequently used method is suffocation. A single lion will often get a good bite on its victim's throat and crush the windpipe. Especially when killing large prey, one lion of a group will clamp its mouth over its victim's nose and mouth while the other lions hold it down." (

The family's decision to have a second private autopsy conducted uncovered the truth. It was a predatory kill. Why is this important? The law is for the lawless, but when you are not breaking the law, why should you be attacked. Although I am not a civil rights activist, I do believe in social justice, equality, and gospel reform. It's time to stop covering up the truth. Real leaders lead by example. We will never see change if we keep quiet. I believe in being a law-abiding citizen and standing for what's right. But, if silence is consent, I will use my voice to speak the truth about all behaviors. No partiality, wrong is wrong and right is right. Real Change starts with implementing the laws of God into the laws of man, and then we Vote. I give a reminder, "when justice prevails, it is a sign of God's Righteous Rule over a Nation."

  • When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." Proverbs 29:2, KJV

  • "If a ruler listens to lies, all his officials become wicked." Proverbs 29:12, NIV.
